Survive Garage.
ESTABLISHED 2009. AN ALTERNATIVE SANCTUARY FOR THE INDEPENDENT SPIRIT.
Community alternative space & art shop. Enabling forums for those who sit outside the mainstream.
What is
Survive?
Survive Garage is more than a gallery; it is a living organism. Since 2009, we have functioned as an anti-mainstream bridge, providing a sanctuary where emerging artists can breathe, collaborate, and evolve without the constraints of institutional art culture.
Managed by the **SURVIVE! Fun Familia**, we operate as a collective ecosystem encompassing a workshop, an exhibition space, and an independent art shop.
THE BASE
"Providing a physical and mental space for the 'other' voices of Yogyakarta's art scene."
Bayu Widodo
The Originator.
Bayu Widodo is the catalyst behind Survive Garage. A graduate of ISI Yogyakarta, his practice is rooted in social activism, using printmaking and collective action as tools for resistance and community building.
"Seni adalah cara kita bertahan, sebuah mantra untuk tetap hidup di tengah kebisingan sistem."
NAVIGATING
